Thermal Scan of the Testicular Area

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is a non-invasive, pain-free, affordable and no contact clinical imaging procedure that can assist with screening for testicular cancer. For boys, we can screen from the age of 16 years. Even if there are no symptoms a thermal scan can be used to screen for potential warning signs such as hyperthermia of the testicles.

Although testicular cancer may be less common than other forms of cancer it is more likely to occur in younger men. If detected and treated early there is a 95% success rate for treating testicular cancer. Therefore it is important for men to be aware of the option of screening by means of thermal imaging so that a problem can be detected before it spreads to the lymph nodes in the abdomen.

There are Two Types of Testicular Cancer:

  • Seminoma testicular cancer: generally develop more slowly and may affect all age groups
  • Non-seminoma testicular cancer: more aggressive and usually made up of more than one type of cancer cell and tend to affect younger patients
